For example, it supports single mothers and fathers in difficult life situations and is the largest organization that provides assistance to children and their parents with the payment of meals in schools and kindergartens. In 2018 and 2019, Metallica donated one dollar from every ticket purchased for their Prague concerts to the project. The project was also supported by tennis player Novak Djoković and model Simona Krainová. "In 2012, we started with a small team but big dreams. Today, we help through projects that have a significant impact throughout the Czech Republic. We provide meals for thousands of children in schools and kindergartens. We help families get decent housing. We protect children from the negative effects of divorce. But above all – we conduct a public discussion on topics that affect the most vulnerable among us. These successes would not be possible without the tireless work of our team, generous donors and strong partnerships" , says Ing. Andrea Dědová , operational director of the organization.
Personality of the year is oncologist MUDr. Pavel Šlampa, CSc. Based on the nomination of the expert jury and the public vote, the special title Superson – Person of the Year 2024 was awarded to Professor MD Pavel Šlampa, CSc. A highly respected expert in the field of radiation oncology, he has dedicated his professional life to the treatment of cancer using modern radiation methods. In addition to patient care, he also researches and writes professional publications that help educate new generations of doctors. Thanks to his approach to treatment and deep understanding of this complex discipline, he has gained respect and recognition both in the Czech and international medical community. How does he remain full of optimism and positive energy despite the challenging mission? "The basis is positive thinking, a friendly relationship with colleagues and empathy for the sick. And, of course, not to be subject to the danger of burnout, mainly through active rest, a balanced and tolerant family life and hobbies," he says with typical optimism. And what is he most proud of during his rich career? "Primarily for the fact that, with the help of my colleagues, I gradually built an ordinary average radiotherapy department into a top European level workplace, which, as the first workplace in the
